About

I am Mateusz Nurek, a computer scientist with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research that combines complex networks and the social sciences. In March 2026, I received my PhD in Computer Science from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Poland, supervised by Prof. Radosław Michalski. My dissertation, Social Systems as Event Streams: A Cognitive Perspective on Temporal Networks, explored how cognitive theory can support the modeling and analysis of temporal social systems.

My main research areas are temporal networks, social network analysis, opinion dynamics, and link prediction. Recently, I have also become interested in higher-order link prediction.
